Unwittingly, in addition to the usual people who would check into an aging highway motel, the Ivanhoe plays host to a couple of very different kinds of clients. The knightly motif may or may not be a coincidence, but for Heroes arriving from out of town looking to try their hand at "this Vulture business", or established Vultures looking to coordinate a face-to-face meeting, the Ivanhoe is a popular staging ground. Its location near Bud Miller Park means that Beholden who have escaped Lemurian control frequently end up here while they ponder their next move; given the difficulties that Beholden face, both in general and in fleeing Lemurians, many never get the chance to make that move. Given the predatory relationship between Heroes and Beholden, the fact that they inadvertently end up rubbing shoulders here could be a factor in the appalling attrition rate of free Beholden in this city…
